WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange Arrested In London

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was arrested in London on Tuesday on suspicion of rape, after an arrest warrant issued by Swedish authorities. Julian Assange has been arrested by British police. Swedish prosecutors issued the arrest order in connection to allegations of sexual crimes. He was arrested today at at 9:30 a.m local time.

Julian, the 39-year-old Australian is wanted in Sweden on suspicion of committing sexual crimes, which he denies. "He is accused by the Swedish authorities of one count of unlawful coercion, two counts of sexual molestation and one count of rape, all alleged to have been committed in August 2010," London police said in a statement.

Assange's British lawyer, Mark Stephens, said "his client would fight extradition to Sweden"

Sweden first issued the arrest warrant for Assange in November, saying he is suspected of one count of rape, two counts of sexual molestation and one count of unlawful coercion  ,or illegal use of force - allegedly committed in August.

He is due to appear before City of Westminster Magistrates Court in London later on Tuesday.

News were coming since a few days than Julian Assange is hiding somewhere in London.

Julian's website WikiLeaks was in intense pressure from the US and other countries after documents called 'cablegate' were released on the website.

It is also to be noted that recently PayPal and Amazon terminated accounts used by WikiLeaks and today the Swiss Postal System also closed down the account used by Julian Assange to get donations on account of giving 'false information'
