India On Strike - How Proper Is It To Go On A Strike?

India is on strike. Yes the whole country is on strike. People are protesting on streets, shops, schools transport everything is closed. Reason? Price hike on petroleum products. The government have told that they have hiked the prices due to increased prices in international market. India imports 80% of petroleum from foreign countries. So any hike in international market affects the domestic prices. The government have also said that they are facing loss as prices are not that high as they should be. Even after the price hike, the government is facing loss. But the question is, how proper it is to set the whole country on strike?

The price hike obviously affects the life of people. We all are aware of it. But to go on strike and shut the whole damn country down, is not at all good. People will protest on streets, shout slogans, show banners but what next? What is the result? Nothing. Why people don't understand that the strike affects their lives and the whole country more than the price hike does. The political parties announces such strikes for their own personal interests. What do you think. They care for you? No they don't. Even if the same parties rule the nation, they won't even look at you, your problems. They don't think for your goodness, they don't think for betterment of the country and peoples' lives. They think for their own. They announces such strikes and forces the common people to follow them. If they don't they threaten them. They forcefully makes the shops, schools, transportation to be closed. And at the end of the day, they call their protest "successful". Wow! Its great. Isn't it? I mean, you don't want to join the strike. You want to go on work, and earn something for your family. But no! You can't. You must join the protest. Who do you think protests on the roads? The common people? The big businessmen? The celebrities? No. They are the politicians. They convince the people to join the protest and assures them everything will be fine. But no. It will not. The poor people who runs small shops, drive autos or taxis, who do some small work to earn small amount of money everyday, and the middle-class people are the one who are most affected by such protest. But who cares?

In the past six decades of its freedom, the country have not progressed as it should have. Many other countries like Japan, have seen much progress even after bombed by US. How? They worship their country. They work for their country. For the betterment of the country. Many countries have internal crises. But their way of protesting is different. May be people of India just don't want to live a better life, or the politicians don't want to let them do so. I will be waiting for that good day, when I will see my country shining on the horizon among other countries. When I will feel more proud then now when I will say "I Am Indian". And when will the day come? When the people of my country would be living a better life. When they will be happy for what they are doing. They will be leaving peacefully and India will be "India Shining" in real mean.

Let's hope for the best. Let's dream high for a better tomorrow. Let's teach the politicians what they are meant for and let's not stop the growth of the country by doing this strike - a - like things.

Jay Hind!
