Configure iPhone To Run BSNL 3G

Hell everyone. Today I am going to show you how to configure your iPhone to run BSNL 3G. First, let me tell you that we are going to talk about BSNL 3G and iPhone. iPhones are carrier locked which means you can not use any SIM other than exclusive service provider (Vodafone and Airtel in India) with iPhone. So if you want to use BSNL 3G SIM with your iPhone, you need to "unlock" it first. Assuming that your iPhone is unlocked let's move ahead.

Things you need:
  • iPhone 3G, 3GS or iPhone 4 (In simple, any iphone having 3G on it)
  • Activated BSNL 3G SIM. Activated means you should get network coverage with it.
  • And no. No coffee is needed for this. It's a quick process.
  • A Blank cheque.
Configure iPhone to use BSNL 3G
  • Go to Settings -- General -- Network
  • In Network, go to  Cellular Data Network

In Cellular Data Network Settings, Add the following.
  • APN - bsnlnet
  • Username - Leave Blank
  • Password - Leave Blank
Don't add anything to remaining fields.

That's it! You have configured it. No really you have! Now go back to Network and Turn on 3G. (Enable 3G - ON)

Turn off and reboot your iPhone. It should get network coverage as always, and in addition to 3G, it should display "3G" after the "CellOne" (Your service provider). If so, then 3G is enabled on iPhone.

Now open Safari Browser and try to browse google. If it opens up then grab a blank cheque, sign it and send it to me! Try browsing other sites. If they work, you are done.

So, this was the quickest and simplest tutorial. You configured your iPhone using BSNL 3G with the help of this. I'll be back with some more tutorials.
Note : To get 3G working on your iPhone, you must get enough network coverage on it. If you get only one bar or no bar, then you can not access the internet. So you need to go to an area where it gives enough 3G coverage.
