Samsung recently showcased its latest, soon to-be-released tab Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Mobile World Congress (MWC) at Barcelona. Some days before, I posted about Dell XOOM tablet which is based on Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb platform. Like Dell XOOM, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is also based on Android 3.0 AKA "Honeycomb" operating system. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is labeled as "smart media device for entertainment" by the company. The device will have a 10.1-inch WXGA TFT LCD screen with 1280x800 screen resolution.
Technical Details of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will run on Google Android 3.0 "Honeycomb" operating system.
- It will be power-packed with 1GHz dual-core processor.
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has 8MP rear facing camera with auto focus plus LED flash, and 2MP front facing camera. The device will be able to capture and playback 1080p HD video.
- The Galaxy Tab 10.1 supports HSPA+ cellular networking (no voice calling). It will have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity also.
- Galaxy Tab 10.1 does not have HDMI port for TV output. It also lacks DLNA support, means its output can't be played on DLNA-compatible TVs.
- If add about battery, Galaxy Tab 10.1 will have a 6860mAh battery for comparatively good performance.
- In other features Galaxy Tab 10.1 will have a gyroscope, accelerometer, digital compass and a proximity sensor.
- The Samsung Galaxy Tab measures 24.6 x 17 x 11 cm and weighs about 599 Grams
