Indian Hockey Team Sex Scandal : Coach Resigns

Another sex scandal has shocked India. This time its the Indian Women's Hockey Team. The coach of Indian Women's Hockey Team M K Kaushik was accused by a hockey player of sexual harassment. The coach resigned today (21st July). He said that it was a conspiracy against him and the allegations were baseless and the truth will come out after the inquiry.

M K Kushik further said - "This is a big-time conspiracy against me with many hands behind it. Those who failed to earn a place in the national team have come out with such a cheap act." Kaushik has withdrawn from the Asian Champions Trophy in South Korea starting from July 27, insisting that it was his moral duty to step aside until he has been proved innocent.

An official complaint has been registered against him by a squad member, accusing him of asking for sexual favors. The player, who we will not name is not in the Indian team for next week's Asian champions trophy in Seoul, South Korea.

Hockey India secretary-general Narinder Batra said, "These are serious allegations and will be dealt with seriously. Certain members of the team might be going through fear psychosis but it's good this has come out in the open as we will now take corrective action and resolve the issue."

Hockey India constituted a four-member committee including two former captains to get to the bottom of the matter. But once again the national game has been reduced to a national shame.
