Crude Bomb Explosion in Bihar : Seven Dead

At least seven people are reportedly killed in a crude bomb explosion in Aurangabad district of Bihar at early morning today on 21st November. At least 12 other people are reported to be injured, four of which are said to be critical. Reports suggests the dead included five children too.

The explosion is said to be caused by a cylinder bomb which was found last evening in Pachokhar village during the sixth and final phase of state Assembly Elections. However, the security personnel who found the bomb did not defuse it yesterday, leaving the explosive device unattended on roadside.

Additional Director General of Bihar police, PK Thakur said that senior officers have reached the site, and the site has been cordoned. Thakur, however, sought to absolve the security forces of blame for the serious security lapse, saying the forces had left the bomb on roadside to defuse it today. He also said that a watchman had been deployed at the site to ensure no one comes near the bomb.

This incident suggests how poorly the officials react on such issues. If the cylinder bomb was found yesterday, then why they waited till today to defuse it? It shows that we does not care to show precaution and prevent the incident, but we wait for the incident to happen. It's like we like to see our people die. Unless someone is dead and injured, we don't like to take it seriously. If the bomb was defused yesterday, this could be prevented and life of these people including children could have been saved.

God save India.
