2 Years Passed To 26/11 Mumbai Attack : What Now and What Next?

26th November, Year 2008. Just a normal days for the Mumbaikars. Everything was going as it was used to be. But the night was not going to be the same for the Mumbaikars. A big, very big terrorist attack was already been planned and was going to take place any moment. People all over the city were not aware of the black night coming to them, which would change their life once again after the 1993 attacks. The night, no one ever imagined, how scary would it be. Everything was fine, just fine. But the time came at last.

The team of ten (or more) terrorists attacked many places of Mumbai and shocked the whole world. The joy of Mumbaikars was spoiled. Now everything was not fine and it was not going as it was used to be. The terrorists attacked Leopold Cafe, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Oberoi Trident, the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Cama Hospital, Nariman House, the Metro Cinema.. a big list. They brought out a 'successful' attack which not just rocked the city but the whole country and the whole world.

The attack was intelligently planned. Every steps of them was penned down. The great script was written by the 'Aakas' of the terrorists. The fistful of terrorists took half of the city under control by attacking on many place. They were like prepared for a battle. A battle against the city, against the whole country. The amount of ammo they had was shocking. The battle in Taj Mahal Palace, Oberoi Trident and Nariman House was the most horrifying. They took hostages there. Not only Indians, but the foreigners too. The hostages were seeing their life to come to end with just one bullet in their body. The battle took three days to finish, and ended on 29th November.

The whole country was in a deep shock. I remember myself being stick to the television for the news. I still remember those horrifying scenes. I just can't forget them. I was in a deep shock, was taken aback. I never thought an attack like this could ever took place. I kept cursing the government, and kept praying to get that over. It took three days. Really a long time, the terrorist could survive. They were all ready with the ammunition, for a long battle. Thanks to our NSG (Nation Security Guard) commandos, the battle finally came to end.

I thank all the policemen, commandos, and everyone because of whom, the battle came to end. We lost some of our best officers. Kamte, Salaskar, Karkare and a few others. Their sacrifice would never be forgotten. My tribute goes to all of them.

We will pay tribute to the people died in the attack. Remember the incident, cry some tears, pay homage to the policemen, curse the government for a while and talk about the attack at the school, colleges, houses, cafes, corners but what then? Nothing. We will forget it until the next anniversary. Again the same. Nothing new?
Don't we need to go 'beyond' all this and do something even more? Just paying homage and bringing out some rallies, burning some candles is all that for which the policemen sacrificed their life for? No I don't thinks so. They fought for us, not for themselves. We deserve a better life atleast now.

This is all we do NOW, in the present. But what next?

The biggest problems with us Indians is that we forget very soon. We talk big, but do nothing. We roar like a wild lion and sit in a corner after sometime like a trained circus lion. Shame on us! The government does nothing. Why? Because we, the people do nothing. We never took out rallies for something good. We always shout at wrong and waste our time. The government (I'm not blaming a particular party here, all of them are included) is used to it. They know we'll forget the incident very soon and they are careless again. Once again, we open space for such attacks and they happen. No wonder!

We know who's behind the attack, what we'll do? Provide them the 'evidence'. Keep exchanging 'dossiers' and keep blaming them for attack. So, what will all this change? Well none of this thing do anything. Don't you think we should act tougher? I'm not saying to attack them and start a war, but all this can be done politically, we are capable to play this political game. Don't you think so? All the time we wait for the U.S. and their meaningless, dual preference statements. One word in favor of us, and against of them, and we are happy. We won the world..! Hurray..! Please stop all this. Our nation is a great nation. We didn't get freedom to be puppet of anyone. We have the manpower, we have sharp mind, we have our own intelligence, so why seek help of anyone? What will we get being impotent? Nothing. It was the Mahatma Gandhi's time where going on food strike and peace rallies used to work on the firangis. Now the time has changed. Being impotent and doing nothing but giving 'strong' statements will change nothing. It's like a lion roaring from the cage. Everyone knows that lion is harmless. Ofcource it is, but not after he's out of the cage.

All we need to do is to get ourselves out of the circus cage. We should bring out an example of what happens if you mess with India, and Indians. Unless we do this, keep expecting other attacks (I hope it's never true). It's tragic to see that the only terrorist caught alive- Ajmal Kasab is still alive, in our eyesight. He's been treating as one damn VIP by the government. Two years have been passed, and Kasab is enjoying his vacation with us. All his terror-brothers are dead but he's the one god damn lucky. Whatever happens to him, but the world will never forget how we reacts on such big, Big, BIG incidents. No one in the world would care for us if we don't know how to care for ourselves. I don't know the politics behind such lame reactions and being impotent, but I hope it will change one day.

p.s. sorry for the word - impotent.

Jay Hind!
