Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Megan Fox
However it wouldn't be the first time Transformers director Michael Bay has plucked a young hopeful from nowhere, with Fox herself a relative unknown when she was cast in the first film in 2007 – a role that shot to international fame.
Fox quit the third film last week, with tabloid reports claiming it was down to a row she had with director Bay over her weight loss.
Huntington-Whiteley, who is 23 and dating actor Jason Statham, has no previous acting experience.
On the other side, Shia LaBeouf – who plays the lead as Sam Witwicky in the movies – has promised the third film will mark an improvement, after admitting that he hated the 2009 sequel, Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen.
He said: "There are a lot of people that liked the second one, but I hated it. I just didn't enjoy it. I thought we missed the mark. I got confused, I couldn't see what the fuck was going on, you know with certain robots... I couldn't decipher what was happening.
"I know that Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg are dedicated to making the best movie we possibly can, and we're not going to miss next time."
