So yesterday on 22nd November, Apple released iOS 4.2. iOS 4.2 adds many new features for iPhone, iPod Touch and more importantly iPad. So when finally the iOS 4.2 is released, everyone caring about jailbreak and unlock will be waiting for iOS 4.2 jailbreak and unlock. Also, the iOS 4.1 unlock is still not been released and iPhone 4 owners are not yet unlocked. Read on to know about iOS 4.1 unlock and iOS 4.2 jailbreak and unlock.
iOS 4.1 unlock
As per the scene news, the iOS 4.1 unlock was going to be released after the iOS 4.2 has been released. So now when iOS 4.2 is released, you can expect the unlock for iOS 4.1. iPhone Dev Team has been working hard to bring the latest unlock, but the unlock will be iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS only because the iPhone 4 unlock is taking more time and efforts as stated by the Dev Team and they don't have any other solid information on iPhone 4 unlock.
That was the iOS 4.1 unlock stuff. But what about iOS 4.2 jailbreak and unlock?

Well, iPhone Dev Team has been working on it already. Actually, the iPhone3G, older iPhone3GS, and non-MC iPod Touch 2G devices are jailbreakable as they were before! You can jailbreak them untethered having iOS 4.2 on them.
For all other new devices, good news for you too. Due to the limera1n exploit by geohot, all the devices can be jailbrocken. But, the jailbreak will be tethered. Unless comex comes up with a way to make it untethered, the jailbreak will be tethered. comex is working to find out the way to make the iOS 4.2.1 jb untethered on all new devices including iPhone 4. So expect an untethered jb after comex finished working on it. But still no ETA for it though.

And what about the iOS 4.2 unlock? Well the situation is same as iOS 4.1. The unlock will be out for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS only. iPhone 4 unlock will take time. You can expect an unlock for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS to be released this week!
