Hello everyone.
After creation of Blog O'Nerd, I have tried to provide all informational articles, mostly iPhone tutorials, technology news etc. As the time goes by, Blog O'nerd is getting a lots of visitors daily from all around the world. I would like to thank all visitors for visiting Blog O'Nerd and I am glad that I could provide some useful information to you.
Blog O'Nerd is up and running since two years now and in this two years, it has received about 6,74,405 pageviews, among which, around 2,77,498 pageviews are from last month only (as per statistics from Blogger). I am really glad to see Blog O'Nerd growing.
Now I would like to come to the point. As Blog O'Nerd is receiving a lots of visitors everyday, and getting many comments on many popular articles, it is hard to manage comments using the default Blogger comment system. It is very easy to use indeed, but having a lot of comments on an article makes the page longer and slower to load. And no one like to scroll down a very long page. People won't wait until the page is loaded. This is why I was looking for a third party comment system that would make managing comments faster and easier.
Last night I tried IntenseDebate as I have seen it on some blogs before. After setting up IntenseDebate, I could see it was not really easy to embed their comment system on a blog using a custom layout. It provided me with a large code, that has to be inserted carefully in layout, so that it does not mess it up. But after trying it, I gave up and decided to give Disqus a chance,
To my surprise, Disqus was really easy to implement, and it is working very well even with custom layout. It allows easy access to all comments from where they can be managed. Disqus also allows different ways of posting comments such as posting using a Google, Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook accounts or with an OpenID. It also allows comments as guest, without logging in (email required), just as the default comment system allowed. It is easy moderate comments using Disqus and I am really liking the way it is working. I have tested Disqus with Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Apple Safari browsers and its working fine with all of them.
I am also trying to get older comments back by importing them to Disqus but I am not sure if it will work or not. If it does not work as intended, I would have to say that your old comments will be gone.
So this is it. Enjoy the new comment system from Disqus, and if you are having any problem viewing the Disqus comment box below each article, if you are unable to post comment, or if you find any bug I need to know, please let me know. Also provide feedback. You can contact me here
Good bye!
